Busecker Schloss Kennel
 

Among all the kennels in the world there's one that stands out above the rest. The Busecker Schloss Kennel has been around for greater then 80 years. Alfred Hahn started his kennel in 1925, his first VA dog was Faust v Busecker-Schloss in 1942. It is said this was the longest continually operating GSD kennel in the world. Alfred Hahn passed away about a year ago around 1998 at the age of 74 years. Even with the Berlin Wall coming down the kennel has still stayed alive, and is still producing top working gsd's. There's are not too many working German Shepherd pedigrees that do not carry the Busecker Schloss kennel name in them some where. Out of all the years of breeding, Sagus vom Busecker Schloss is probably the dog most famous to come out of the kennel. Sagus was sired by the all time great Greif vom Lanthal which Alfred Hahn also owned. These two dogs produced many of yesterdays top working dogs. Alfred knew Greif was a great producer and he used him in many of his breedings. One of the earliest Busecker dog to come into the USA was in 1938 with a dog named Odin vom Busecker Schloss. Along with a dog named Pfeffer von Bern. Odin and Pfeffer with their intense inbreeding and line breeding, molded the majority of modern day North American lines. Another Busecker dog made its way to America many years later, Natan vom Busecker Scholss which was owned and handled by Bill Kulla before selling him to  Leerberg kennels. Natan was an excellent producer of working dogs and was one of a very few German Shepherd Dogs to go OFA Excellent.
